So I didn't have time over summer to do the summer work. And I was also confused and I had no idea what my concentration would be. So I don't have it. That being said, I probably won't be able to take AP art. And although band is pretty much over after this week, I still don't have a concentration, so I wouldn't know what to draw.
This project hasn't been completed yet, but my idea was to crumple up a soccer jersey like this. Doing this creates a lot of shadow, making it a little more hard to paint (especially because I'm a horrible painter). But I chose a soccer jersey because I love soccer and enjoy playing with the people I'm on or have been on teams with.
For this project, my topic is "up close and personal." So I've decided to take a bunch of close up pictures of people's faces. Here's what I kind of want to do. After I draw their faces, I want to put them together. Here are some of the pictures. I also want to do some in black-and-white and do some in color. This way it isn't just one big black-and-white picture, which I thought would be difficult to see overall- it would be dull-and it also isn't all one big colorful picture. This way you can let your eyes go to one picture to the next. I thought that would be interesting.
There's the original and the black and white I used for my drawing.
I believe that art is defined as a form of emotion. Most people who do art have something on their mind while they're doing it- whether it's before, during, or after their work of art. Some people like to draw when they're happy, when they're upset, when they come up with a cool idea and get excited, or maybe they're stressed and draw to cause ease. Art is emotion. With my art, I wish to show a variety of emotions. I normally draw a lot of patterns with markers and pens, and my favorite times to draw are when I'm stressed, upset, or when I come up with something I think would be cool or fun to draw. Sometimes I just have a lot of energy and need something to calm me down.
I think quality artwork is something original that reflects the artist or the emotion the artist wants the viewer to feel. I also think it's something the artist takes time to do; you can usually tell when someone is actually into the piece they're doing. |
